Thomas Johnson is a journalist residing in Miami, Florida. This fall, he will be attending Stanford’s Graduate Journalism program.
After working at the Miami Herald and graduating from Florida International University in 2010 with degrees in journalism and political science, Thomas Johnson decided to start his own website, nyfwc.com.
At the Miami Herald, Thomas wrote a wide variety of news features — from profiling a renaissance fair falconer, to writing about Wynwood street art– while also reporting on local government.
Before that, Thomas covered the Miami Heat for almost three years for the Examiner.com.
Thomas helped create nyfwc.com when he saw a niche in the sports media market that wasn’t being fulfilled, specifically a humorous look at the player movement element. For nyfwc, Thomas is a contributing editor who writes about professional sports, primarily basketball and soccer. He also works as a freelance copy-editor.
